Every zou.sh link comes with a free QR code. Click **QR** after you shorten a link on blinkhop.com, or add `/qr` to the end of any short link, for example `https://zou.sh/launch/qr`.

## Get the QR code for a short link

1. Shorten your link on blinkhop.com.
2. Click **QR** next to your new link. The QR code opens as an SVG image.
3. Save the image, then add it to your flyer, poster, slide or packaging.

You can also type the address yourself: `https://zou.sh/<code>/qr`. The API returns it in the `qr_url` field:

```json
{"short_url": "https://zou.sh/7Kp2x", "qr_url": "https://zou.sh/7Kp2x/qr"}
```

## Why the QR code is an SVG

SVG is a vector format, so the code stays sharp at any size, from a business card to a banner. It uses error correction level M, which can restore about 15% of the data, so phones can still read a code that is slightly damaged or dirty. If your design tool doesn't accept SVG, convert the file to PNG at the size you need.

## Tips for printing

- Test the printed code with a phone camera before you print many copies.
- Keep a white margin around the code, and keep the code dark on a light background.
- Short links never expire, so a printed code keeps working. With an account (early access), you'll also be able to [change where the link points](https://blinkhop.com/help/edit-a-link) without reprinting.

## More QR code options

You can also make QR codes with the free [QR code generator](https://blinkhop.com/tools/qr-code-generator), in PNG or SVG and in your own colors. Before printing, check [what size the code should be](https://blinkhop.com/help/qr-code-size) and [whether to use SVG or PNG](https://blinkhop.com/help/qr-code-svg-or-png).
