Click analytics

Live, free

Know what worked, without tracking who clicked.

Clicks on every zou.sh link are counted by day, country, referrer and device type. No cookies, no stored IP addresses, and no bots or link previews in the totals.

Counting is live on every link. The dashboard is in early access.

How it works

How link analytics count a click

  1. 1

    Someone opens your link

The visitor goes straight to the destination. The redirect sets no cookie, and their IP address is never stored.

  2. 2

    Automated traffic is skipped

Bots, link previews in apps like Slack, WhatsApp or Discord, scripts and headless browsers are redirected but not counted.

  3. 3

    Daily counters go up

A human click adds one to that day’s counters for the link, split by country, referrer domain and device type.

Why it helps

What you can see today, and what’s coming

Totals are already public on every link. The dashboard that breaks them down comes with accounts, in early access.

  • Public total on the + page

Add + to a link, like zou.sh/launch+, to see its total clicks next to the destination and creation date. No sign-in needed.

  • Click totals in the API

GET /links/{code} returns a clicks field next to the destination and creation date, and the MCP tool expand_link reports the same total.

  • Bots and previews filtered

Chat apps fetch a link to build its preview card. Those fetches, along with bots, scripts and headless browsers, are left out of the count.

  • No cookies, no stored IPs

Redirects set no cookies and visitor IP addresses are never stored. Only daily counts are kept, so there is nothing to build a profile from.

  • Early access

    Breakdowns in a dashboard

With an account, see daily clicks for each of your links, broken down by country, referrer domain and device type.

  • Early access

Up to 2 years of history

30 days of history with a free account, 1 year on Pro and 2 years on Team.

What we count

Four fields, counted per day

Clicks are stored as daily totals, never as individual events. Each total is split by country, referrer domain and device type, and none of it identifies a visitor.

  • Day: the date of the click
  • Country: from Cloudflare’s country header
  • Referrer: the domain only, not the full page address
  • Device type: mobile or desktop

What we leave out

Traffic that never reaches the totals

A click count is only useful if it counts people. Automated requests are still redirected, but they stay out of the counters. No filter is perfect, so read the totals as a careful count of human clicks.

  • Bots and crawlers
  • Link previews in Slack, WhatsApp, Discord and similar apps
  • Scripts and headless browsers
  • Anything that identifies a visitor: no cookies, no IPs

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How do I see how many clicks my short link got?

Add + to the link, as in https://zou.sh/launch+, to see its total clicks. The API returns the same total in the clicks field of GET /links/{code}.

Does Blinkhop use cookies to count clicks?

No. Opening a zou.sh link sets no cookie, and the visitor’s IP address is never stored. A click only adds to daily counters by country, referrer domain and device type.

Are clicks from Slack or WhatsApp link previews counted?

No. When a chat app fetches a link to build its preview card, the request is redirected but not counted. Bots, scripts and headless browsers are left out too.

Why don’t my clicks match my website analytics?

They measure different steps. Blinkhop counts human clicks on the short link, while your site’s analytics counts visits where its script loads, so small differences are normal.

How much click history will I be able to see?

With accounts (early access), the dashboard shows 30 days of history on a free account, 1 year on Pro and 2 years on Team. The public total on the + page is available for every link today.

Where does the country of a click come from?

From Cloudflare’s country header, a two-letter code added to each request. We don’t run IP address lookups of our own, and we don’t store the address.
