Do I need an account?

No. You can shorten links, pick custom endings, get QR codes and use the API and MCP server without signing up. Accounts are in early access.

No. Everything that is live today works without an account, and you never have to sign up, confirm an email address or solve a captcha. Accounts are in early access and will add tools to manage your links.

What works without an account

  • Shortening links on blinkhop.com, with or without a custom ending
  • A print-ready QR code for every link
  • Link previews: add + to any zou.sh link to see where it goes
  • The REST API and the MCP server, without a key
  • Links that never expire

The only limits are rate limits per IP address: 20 new links per minute and 300 per day on the website and the API, with separate limits for the MCP server. What are the API rate limits? explains how they work.

What an account will add (early access)

Accounts are not open yet. With an account (early access), you will be able to:

  • Change a link’s destination after you share it
  • Set expiry dates and click limits
  • Follow your clicks in an analytics dashboard
  • Save UTM presets and upload links in bulk from a CSV file
  • Use branded domains and team workspaces
  • Get an API key with higher limits

Some of these features come with paid plans. To hear when accounts open, join the early access list on the pricing page.

Links created without an account can’t be edited later. We don’t record who created a link: there is no account and no IP address attached to it, so nobody, including you, can prove a link is theirs. Before you share a link widely, add + to it and check the destination on its preview page.

What are the API rate limits?

Without a key, each IP address can create 20 links per minute and 300 per day. The MCP server allows 120 calls per minute and 5,000 per day.

    Do short links expire?

No. zou.sh links never expire unless an owner sets an expiry, which requires an account (early access). Links can be disabled for abuse.

    When will accounts be available?

Accounts are in early access and there is no public date yet. Join the list on the pricing page and we'll let you know when accounts open.
